LIKE MANY OF HIS PEERS, THE FABRIC OF DAVEY’S LIFE IS WOVEN WITH MEMES, MODERN TECHNOLOGIES, AND GOOD OLD-FASHIONED PLANT-BASED PROBLEMS. EVEN HIS REAL-LIFE RELATIONSHIPS ARE DEEPLY ENMESHED IN INTERFACES AND SOCIAL MEDIA-CAST MORES RESULTING IN A COMPLICATED DYNAMIC BETWEEN THE REAL WORLD, HIS IMAGINATION, AND THE DIGITAL WORLDS HE INHABITS.

HIDING BEHIND A QUICK JOKE, SOME BRAINROT, AND A SMILE, DAVEY COPES BY CREATING HIS OWN STORIES FULL OF SINCERITY, FRAGILITY, JOY, AND INTROSPECTION.

_it’s been another long year of silence for davey legend - one that has felt like a lifetime in slow-motion. but the wait is over with the first single in a planned run of new music for 2025, Internal Monologue.

_first tracked at davey’s calvin sunday studios in redding, ca in 2023, the song features long-time friend, collaborator, and expert jazz-clapper, OZ Goliath - another redding artist, well-versed in the language of unease.

_davey cuts straight to the chase with the first line in the track, singing: “my anxiety’s a mountain, i try my best to do without it, the thoughts inside my head are pounding, all i wanna do is drown ‘em”. internal monologue isn’t just a song - it’s a confessional, a restless loop of self-inflicted wounds.

_for davey, anxiety is a snake eating its own tail - an ouroboros of tension that never loosens its grip. he and OZ turn their gaze inward, dissecting the cyclical nature of fear, the collateral damage it leaves in its wake, and the way it poisons even the best intentions in relationships.

_far from a genre-purist, davey borrows bits and pieces from hyperpop, midwest emo, and hip hop - channeling the spirits of eden, 21 pilots, imogen heap, björk, and ericdoa.
